Seattle Harbor Cruise (Lots of Pictures)

My sister was in town for my birthday last week, and we spent some time wandering around downtown Seattle, and on Friday we decided to take the 1 hour Harbor Cruise around Elliot Bay. The weather was perfect, the tour guide was amusing, and of course I took my camera along for the ride. Click [...]

The Old Thorp Mill

At the end of my vacation, I had a chance to get into the historic Thorp Grist Mill with my camera and take some pictures. Most of the equipment from the 1800s is still in the mill, obviously not working anymore, but still in pretty good shape. I have to admit the place is a [...]

Welcome to Idaho

Standing at the top of Lookout Pass, just inside the Idaho/Montana state line. At an elevation of just over 4600 feet, Lookout makes Snoqualmie Pass look like a bunny slope.

Leaving Montana

It’s a beautiful fall day, and I’m headed out of Missoula on the way back to Seattle.

Missoula

Finally arrived in Missoula. Holy cow that is a long drive. Now it’s time to find dinner and get connected to the Internet.

Halfway there

Finally made it to the halfway point. Or maybe just past halfway, as I’ve just driven 195 miles and google maps says I have 182 miles to go.
At least now I get to drive through the mountains, I forgot how long and flat and ugly the drive is from Ellensburg to Spokane.

Dust bowl

The central area of the state being rather dry, and with lots if fields bare now that harvest is ending, it’s the perfect recipe for a dust storm, just add wind:
