Somehow, you've managed to stumble upon my site. There's all sorts of stuff here, and some of it might even be interesting.

Depending on my mood, I might post a movie review, a rant about something (usually computer-related) that isn't working the way it should, or a yummy new recipe I want to share. Or maybe it will be something about my latest project, wanderings through the city, or my ongoing battle to de-clutter the ridiculous amount of stuff I've collected over the years. Or I might just feel like sharing my thoughts and none of my friends will answer their phone.

If you have any questions or comments, or you just want to tell me what a fantastic writer I am, leave a comment and it will get emailed to me.

You can find varying risotto recipes all over the web, running the gamut from vegetarian to seasonal to side dish to meat-based, and with just about every level of complexity to go with them. Personally, I prefer a quick and simple risotto, and after a little tweaking this mix of … Continue reading →

With the office “goodies week” coming up, and thus the responsibility to bring wonderfully yummy treats to feed to my coworkers, I pulled out the Almond Roca recipe I got from Mom last year, made a few tweaks, and whipped up a batch. Ingredients: 1 pound butter (salted is fine) … Continue reading →

On a recent trip, my sister and I went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and I fell in love with their Lemon-Herb Roasted Chicken, which is half a roasted chicken served with mashed potatoes and carrots, and absolutely swimming in butter sauce (not to mention, drowning in calories.) Tonight … Continue reading →

Chicken Risotto

A nice, creamy chicken and rice dish, this is the cut-in-half version so it’s not enough to feed an army. This volume should fit in about a 2.5qt pan, the doubled version requires at least a 3.5qt and preferably a 4qt pan. Ingredients: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1.5 Tbsp. … Continue reading →

Yet another recent creation cobbled together from various sources and my imagination. This was one of those “what do I have available and how can I make it tasty” kind of recipes. It’s nice and simple, except for the part where you have to baste or stir everything every 15 … Continue reading →

This is a recipe I’ve been working on off and on for a while now. I’ve always liked the idea of honey baked chicken, but I could never get it to turn out quite right. It turns out the problem was with my ancient apartment oven (shocked!!!) and not the … Continue reading →

After trying some focaccia topped with pesto, olives, and sun dried tomatoes from a fabulous bakery in Port Townsend last weekend, I decided to try my hand at making something similar. Since I couldn’t find an actual recipe for what I wanted, I had to take parts of a few … Continue reading →

Mini Beef Stew

I love a good beef stew, but it can be hard to find a good recipe that can be cut down for a small crock pot. This week I have finally perfected my mini beef stew recipe, perfect for 1-2 people plus just enough leftovers to take to work and … Continue reading →

Considering what a picky eater I am, many people are surprised to find out that not only do I eat olives, I love them. Probably more than is healthy. In particular, I’m a big fan of pimento-stuffed manzanilla olives (aka, green olives or martini olives.) My usual excuse for eating … Continue reading →
