Book Collection

Among many other hobbies that I rotate through, I love to read. I have an entire room dedicated to my book collection – rooms of this type are sometimes referred to as a “library.”

A while back, I finally got around to dragging the MacBook to the library, and entering ALL my books into my catalog software. Turns out, I have a lot of books. Well over 1000, in fact. Amazingly, I have read all but about 200 of those. Which explains a lot about my social life, now that I think about it. . .

With the advent of e-readers, a good portion of my library and new book purchases have become digital, and let me tell you, it’s a great thing to be able to pack an entire library in something the size of a Kindle. I’m still pretty attached to my first edition hardcovers, beautifully illustrated children’s classics (not just for children) and having the full catalog of my favorite authors all lined up on a shelf. Other than that, it’s digital all the way.
