Meglet Rambles On

Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you are looking forward to 2010 as much as I am. 2009 was an interesting year, and the last part of it was quite stressful. The end of 2009 also meant the end of the job I’ve had for almost 10 years due to an acquisition by a larger company. The beginning of 2010 brings a new job at the new parent company, along with a lot of new opportunities for both work and life.

In honor of the new year, and in hopes of continuing my path toward organization, I spent a good portion of today cleaning out my filing cabinet. I made the unpleasant discovery that not only have I been forgetting that task for over 10 years, I’ve also been ignoring my “to be filed” stack for over 2 years. After a few hours, and a lot of time wandering down memory lane, I have a nice, neat, organized filing cabinet with a LOT more free space (no more squishing folders together to make room for that ONE MORE STATEMENT,) I’ve reclaimed the shelf and desk space that had been overtaken with paperwork waiting to be filed, and my floor looked like this:

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find a shredder, and a REALLY big recycle bin.
