Some women love purses. . .
Others love shoes. Personally, I love accessory covers for my gadgets. I’ve lost count of how many different iPhone and iPod cases I have, and I’m on at least my second (possibly 3rd) protective shell for the laptop. I’ve been remarkably good about not getting a new cover for my Kindle every month, staying with this lovely purple cover and skin combo since about March:
But a couple of days ago, M-Edge, the company that makes my current Kindle cover, released a new set of designs, based on cover art from the New Yorker magazine. And I just couldn’t resist ordering this design:
If you look closely, that’s an Amazon.com box that the UPS delivery person is handing over. How appropriate is that?
And of course, a new cover means I need a new skin. So off I went to DecalGirl, and found this matching plaid skin:
Now I’m off to refresh the tracking status impatiently until they both arrive.
(and alright, I’ll admit to owning a higher-than-average number of purses.)

How do you like the Kindle? I’ve been torn between that B&N’s new Nook (though I’d want to wait a rev or two on the software for that one)…
December 19th, 2009 at 3:50 pmMichael – I love my Kindle, and with the upcoming change to commuting by bus, I expect to love it even more. The simplicity of the delivery system is really my favorite thing. Pick a book, buy it, read it. I’ve not had a chance to play with the Nook yet, but beyond the initial software issues, there are some nitpicky things I don’t like, such as the need to enter part (or all?) of your credit card number on the device to authorize a book the first time you open it. When I want to read a book, I don’t want to have to go find my purse and dig for my credit card first! I also haven’t had any issues with screen contrast on the Kindle that some people complain about. This is probably helped by using a dark skin around the screen to provide contrast.
