Lunchtime in Seattle
Today started with an early meeting, and ended with yet another shift on the help desk phones. So I took an extra long lunch break, and wandered around Seattle for an hour or so.
I started on the Seattle Waterfront, near the Aquarium. There are some coin-operated distance viewers for looking out across the water, with part of the downtown Seattle skyline as a backdrop:

Then I wandered north a little bit, to the Public Pier. From here, you can see most of the Seattle waterfront, from the Aquarium, to the sports stadiums behind the Colman Ferry dock, and over to the shipping terminals:

You can watch as the ferries leave the dock, headed for Bremerton or Bainbridge Island:

And as you walk back across the pier towards the street, you can see the high-rises around Pioneer Square, including the Smith Tower and the Bank of America building:

On the way back to work, I stopped on Beacon Hill to see downtown Seattle from a different direction:
