Today started with an early meeting, and ended with yet another shift on the help desk phones. So I took an extra long lunch break, and wandered around Seattle for an hour or so.
I started on the Seattle Waterfront, near the Aquarium. There are some coin-operated distance viewers for looking out across the water, with [...]

I took a walk along the water at Seahurst Park after work tonight.
Rays of sunlight shine through the clouds:
Sunlight over the Olympic Mountains starts to turn orange for sunset:
A small wave breaks on the beach:

Smitty the Server had a hard drive failure. Since that required re-installing Windows, I took the opportunity to upgrade to a quad-core processor first (which also required replacing the motherboard and memory) and install some new hard drives. Follow along as Smitty gets rebuilt!
Poor dead Smitty sits under the desk, waiting for a transplant:

The last two weeks have not been very pleasant. Sample:
1. work-Print server sharing 50 printers to 3 departments. Dead. 18+ hours to replace
2. home-one of my favorite fish. Fine Tuesday night, dead Wednesday morning.

Birthday Roses, originally uploaded by meglet.
One of my wonderful co-workers had flowers delivered for my birthday! He says that no woman (no matter how short) should be without flowers on her birthday.
Thanks Milton!

Because I store so much media, mostly in the form of TV shows (both DVD and recorded High Definition shows) and movies (again, in DVD and Blu-ray form) I’m always on the lookout for more space. So, when Best Buy, of all places, had a really good price on the new 2TB drive from Western [...]

I have regrouped, enlisted reinforcements (in the form of better gardening gloves) and finally ripped out the rest of the Periwinkle vines today!
There are still a few stragglers left that I will need to pull as time goes by, but the worst is done, and the lilies are rescued.
Found:
6 Day Lilies
Many more baby [...]
