Finally! A Desk!
The freight company finally found my desk, just as soon as the replacement desk had shipped. They were able to deliver it on Thursday, and I started setting it up Thursday night. It’s not quite as big as I expected, so I have the 29″ extension on order that will connect to one end.
The desk is wonderful, though, and with all the shelves and slots for cable routing it’s a lot easier to get everything organized the way I want it. Of course, I still have another 3 or 4 boxes of stuff to put away in, on, or around the desk. But at least I have all my computers back up and running!
Also, it’s time to start thinking about what to name the new Amazon Kindle e-book reader that I couldn’t resist ordering. Something amusing, something book or literature related, something 28 characters long or less, and possibly something that finishes the “Send Wirelessly To” sentence that is part of the process for purchasing Kindle books on Amazon. . . Got a suggestion? Leave it in the comments for me!
I stand by Brindle.
And man! I just can’t stomach the cost of Kindle books. $10 for a digital book? That seems totally ridiculous.
Hopefully romance novels will be cheaper :p
February 14th, 2009 at 4:44 pmMost of the books I want are $5-8. And LOTS are free, I have about 10 free books queued up to download as soon as I turn the new Kindle on.
Plus, it’s not the digital book, it’s the convenience of carrying multiple books in one tiny device. Seriously, almost half of my gigantic tech books are available for it, I would LOVE to just always have those rather than leaving them at the office and needing them at home, or leaving them at home and needing them at the office, or giving up and packing 10lbs of Exchange manuals back and forth every day.
Also, there have been so many times I’ve wanted to read a particular book, only I didn’t have it with me, or didn’t want to go upstairs and find it, so I just wasted time surfing the net instead. Now, I can just pick up the Kindle and read.
