My new Kindle e-book reader from Amazon arrived today. A day early, even! Once I received the shipping notice, I spent some time ordering any free books that looked interesting, and prioritizing my list of favorite and yet-to-be-read books that I wanted on the Kindle. Amazingly, I managed to stay under the budget I set. [...]

After much drama, the new desk is in, the computers are on it, the extension has arrived, and I am in the process of replacing everything. The essentials are here, though:

A single, used Jeep, fully stickered with price, mileage, GREAT DEAL!!! . . . .sitting all by itself in the parking lot of a used car dealer that has been closed for weeks.
A chicken that almost crossed the road. I’m still not sure WHY there was a chicken roaming around what is essentially “downtown” Burien, [...]

The freight company finally found my desk, just as soon as the replacement desk had shipped. They were able to deliver it on Thursday, and I started setting it up Thursday night. It’s not quite as big as I expected, so I have the 29″ extension on order that will connect to one end.

After much thinking, and searching, I decided it was about time for my bi-annual desk replacement. So I visited some office stores, and furniture stores, and hunted around the web. And in the end, I ordered this very nice looking desk:

And, thanks to shameless begging, I was able to schedule an on-site visit by a repair tech, so I didn’t have to haul my 24″ iMac through the mall to my nearest Apple Store.
