As previously mentioned, I recently acquired a Samsung NC-10 mini laptop. In the past 5 days, I have set it up to do the following:
- Surf the internet (duh)
- Play music with iTunes (1500+ songs)
- Play videos in iTunes (movies I own, and TV shows I’ve purchased from iTunes)
- Play TV shows I’ve converted from DVD
- Stream movies from Netflix
- Stream movies and TV shows from Amazon Video on Demand
- Connect to my Windows Home Server
- Use the WHS Connector to manage users, computers, and backups
- Browse the shared folders to get to my DVD and TV show library
- Use My Movies software to update the database of movies stored on my media server so my HTPC can play them
- Check my work email
- Check my home email (all 4 accounts!)
- Chat with my friends on Skype
- Connect to my work network to fix things without having to drive all the way downtown
- Take it to a meeting so I can get work done during the inevitable time-wasting discussions without worrying about running out of battery power
- Minor photo editing
- Manage my websites – edit the themes, upload photos, approve items, and write new posts like this!
