Day Trip!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I headed off on a little road trip with my camera. I started at the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah.

They have a cougar (of course):

And a Golden Bengal Tiger:

And my favorite, the White Bengal Tiger:

Along with some White Ruffed Lemurs who really enjoyed the sunshine:

Not dead, just sunning

And lots of Macaw parrots:

Then I drove over to Snoqualmie. I was planning to stop at Snoqualmie Falls, but it was so busy I couldn’t even find a parking space, so I went over to the historic rail cars instead.

There was an old Northern Pacific Rail Car:

And an old Shell tanker car:

And some old wooden box cars:

After I left the rail cars, I drove around for a while until I saw something interesting. That happened to be an old railroad trestle converted to a pedestrian bridge. About halfway up the stairs, I remembered my issues with heights, but once I got up there the railings were solid enough that I was ok.

Standing under the trestle, which is reflected in the Snoqualmie River below:

Looking back along the trestle:

Looking up as Canada Geese fly overhead:

Next week, a trip to the replica Pioneer Village in Cashmere, Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee, a stop at Rock Island Park, and then around to the river overlooks and Ginko State Park in Vantage on Friday. You can see the route on Google Maps.

These are great pictures. I like the bird the best. How’d you get pix if cats and bird without the fence?

Most of the birds are actually out on perches, without cages. So they’re easy to take pictures of.

For the cats, I just zoomed in through the fence with my fancy new zoom lens.
