Hooray for Tax Time!
Sounds a little strange, doesn’t it? However, in addition to my savings plan, and typical spending/new toy cycle, I have the maximum amount of income tax removed from my paycheck all year to guarantee a return when I file my taxes. This year, my tax return paid for. . .
A shiny new 24″ iMac!!! Well, technically it’s not new, because it’s refurbished, but it’s new to me. And it’s really pretty. And really, realy big. Really, really, really big. It makes my nice 20″ widescreen Dell monitor look puny.
So now I get to spend hours installing programs and setting everything up the way I want it. And get a Windows Virtual Machine running for my checkbook software and preferred email program until I can find replacements that work on OS X. If I’m really lucky, the Windows Home Server backup from my old PC will restore successfully to a virtual machine and boot instead of blue screening, but I’m not holding my breath.
Speaking of which, I should go write up some instructions for getting the Windows Home Server Client Restore CD to restore to a virtual machine.
